Australian Rules Football Achievements
Stan Ryan (5 December 1902 – 1 December 1983) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Richmond in the Victorian Football League (VFL).
Ryan was a Tasmanian and won the best and fairest award at North Hobart in 1928. The following year he played for Richmond, making 14 appearances, including the 1929 VFL Grand Final. He played his football as a follower.

BIOGRAPHY
Stan was a ruckman who also played centre-half-forward and centre-half-back. A rugged player, he was strong and possessed a good turn of speed. He was a long punt kick and one of the best ruckman in Tasmania during his era. He originally started his career with New Norfolk before crossing to North Hobart where he spent a total of nine seasons and also represented Tasmania three times. He also spent three seasons with Launceston. He joined Richmond in 1929 and was a member of the Grand Final side that year, before returning to Tasmania in 1930. Stan later served as a recruiting officer for Richmond. He was also President of the North Hobart Football Club in the late 1930s.
